Texas Instruments DRV5056/DRV5056-Q1 High Accuracy 3.3V or 5V Ratiometric Unipolar Hall Effect Sensors can be used for accurate position sensing in a wide range of applications. The DRV5056/DRV5056-Q1 Hall Effect Sensor responds proportionally to the flux density of a magnetic south pole and operates from a 3.3V to 5V power supply. An unipolar magnetic response feature drives analog output of 0.6V when no magnetic field is present and increases when a south magnetic pole is applied. Applications that sense one magnetic pole further benefits from this magnetic response maximizing the output dynamic range. The output swing is further maximized with four magnetic sensitivity options of 200mV/mT, 20mT range; 100mV/mT, 39mT range; 50mV/mT, 79mT range; and 25mV/mT, 158mT range. Two package options are available, the surface-mount SOT-23 and the through-hole TO-92, offering different sensing directions. The ratiometric architecture minimizes errors from VCC tolerance when the external analog-to-digital converter (ADC) uses the same VCC for its reference. A magnetic temperature compensation counteracts how magnets drift for linear performance across a wide –40°C to +125°C temperature range. The DRV5056-Q1 devices are AEC-Q100 qualified for automotive applications.
